Privacy Policy
Last updated September 3, 2026
Skedaddle is a private family calendar. This policy explains what information the app stores, why, and what we do — and don't do — with it.
What we store
- Household & members: your household name, member names, colors, avatars, roles, and the email addresses of adults (used only for sign-in links).
- Calendar content: events, schoolwork, routines, chores, rewards, and to-dos you create.
- Lists & favorites: shopping/to-do lists, list items, and saved favorites.
- Photos: family photos you upload for the Wall Mode screensaver, and receipt or flyer images you choose to scan.
- Optional connections: if you subscribe to a calendar feed or connect an external calendar, we store what's needed to sync it. Access tokens are encrypted at rest.
- Device & session info: a session cookie, a device identifier for security features (like the privacy PIN unlock), and push-notification subscriptions you opt into.
How we use it
Only to run Skedaddle for your household: showing your calendar and lists, syncing across your family's devices, sending reminders you turn on, and emailing sign-in links. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or build profiles from it.
AI features
When you scan a flyer, forward an email, or scan a receipt, that content is sent to an AI service (Anthropic) solely to extract events or items from it. Extracted results are shown to you for review before anything is saved. We treat submitted content as untrusted data, never as instructions.
Who else sees it
Your data is stored on Amazon Web Services (United States). We use Amazon SES to send sign-in emails and Anthropic for the AI features above. These providers process data only to provide those services. Everyone in your household sees the household's shared calendar and lists; private events are masked on shared devices unless unlocked with the household PIN.
Your controls
- Edit or delete any event, list, item, photo, or member at any time.
- Turn push notifications on or off per device.
- Delete your entire household from Settings, which permanently removes all of its data.
Children
Kids in a household sign in with a PIN, have no email on file, and see only their family's calendar. We collect no information from children beyond what a parent enters (name, color, avatar).
Security & retention
Data is encrypted in transit and stored on secured infrastructure. We keep it for as long as your household exists; deleting the household removes it.
